What does the job as a floor layer involve?

It's a free and varied job. It ranges from demolition to laying parquet, sanding floors, and installing plastic mats in wet rooms. In my job, it also means meeting a lot of people, including both private individuals and construction workers.

What does a typical workday för a floor layer look like?

A typical day as a floor layer varies depending on the project you're working on. But usually, you go out to the project site, do demolition and filling, and in the afternoon, you might measure and cut flooring to lay it out later.

What is the most rewarding about being a floor layer?

It's the quick results. You can arrive to a project in the morning with an old, dull carpet, rip it out, and lay new flooring in a day. I also enjoy meeting a lot of people.

How did you find your way to the job of a floor layer?

I attended a three-year construction program in high school. After that, I did my military service, and right after that, I started working as a floor layer.

Who would you recommend for the job of a floor layer?

I would recommend it to any young person interested in working in the construction industry. There isn't a single skilled floor layer who is without a job.
